She is a graduate from the California College of Ayurveda, and studied with Dr. Vasant Lad, Robert Svoboda, Jaisri Lambert, and in the private practices of doctors in India. Her training includes panchakarma (cleansing/purification) therapy, pulse assessment, herbology and Ayurvedic massage and rejuvenation therapies.
Simone also has taken a lot of pre-med classes to supplement her Ayurvedic education, adding to her understanding of the modern scientific approach to the physical body.
She also has an extensive background in yoga (as a certified yoga teacher) and was initiated by Sarah Powers, Georg Feuerstein and Richard Miller into the rich and formative science of yoga, and pranayama, which she uses a lot in her practice. She has had a meditation practice for almost 20 years, mostly in the Buddhist tradition, and is currently pursuing studies in Tantrik philosophy.
These disciplines come together in Marin Ayurveda, where a vision of integration of the ancient with the new, and of sustainability in health- and personal care, are held.
Simone has a very earthy and grounded approach to healing, and works with all that comes from the earth: food, herbs and oils.
Simone pays close, loving attention to each of her clients. Her caring and compassion are intrinsic to the healing power of her work.
Originally from the Netherlands, Simone has raised two children in Marin County, California.
